During September 16-18, 2024, Tamara Burenko, Executive Director of the Energy Security Center of Ukraine, participated in the session of the Group of Experts on Clean Electricity Systems (GECES), the session of the Group of Experts on Energy Efficiency (GEEE), and the session of the Group of Experts on Renewable Energy Sources (GERE) of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE).
The expert group is engaged in organizing a dialogue on regulatory and policy issues to remove financial, technical, and political barriers to increasing energy efficiency, as well as to exchange experience and best practices in the field of energy efficiency in the UNECE region, including strengthening institutional capacity in the field of energy efficiency to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
This year, the focus was on energy security issues and Ukraine's experience in overcoming the consequences of Russian military attacks on energy facilities.
